Florida Indian Hobbyist Association

 


The Florida Indian Hobbyist Association is dedicated to the preservation of the songs, dances, traditions and culture of the American Indian. The 1st FIHA was in 1965 at the old Pop Warner football field in Ft. Pierce, now known as Jaycee Field behind what is now the Ft. Pierce Police Dept.



The initial group was called the Esta-had-ke Indian Dancers, Explorer Post 476 from Ft. Pierce assisted by The Crow Owners Society.

The 1st 3 FIHA powwow's were held there, and then went to the Fairgrounds at the Airport. Later FIHA moved to Indian River Community College and were held there until FIHA returned to the Fairgrounds. FIHA is now held at the Savannas recreation area, 1400 Midway road Fort Pierce.
